- Scrape all the popcorn ceilings- Steven did this and I stayed outside because of the pregnancy.
- Mud.... prime.... and paint all the ceilings.
- Pull up all the NASTY old carpet and padding- it was so old and gross that it was matted into the wood floor underneath and smelled so bad!
- Fix all the holes and gashes in the walls and texture them... and paint them.
- Replace and paint all the doors and handles.
- Paint every inch of the entire apartment- thanks for your help Chels and Thane!
- Re-carpet the whole apartment- however when the carpet installer came to do this and was about finished- he realized the carpet was manufactured wrong and was more then one color. After a week of diagnoses... and waiting to move in, Home Depot decided to give us the carpet for free! Yay! I couldn't even tell there was anything wrong with the carpet.
- Scrape and refinish all the kitchen cabinets- again, only something Steven could do because of the chemicals.
- Replacing old yellow plugs and yellow light bulbs and electric outlet covers...
- After all that, Steven built me a beautiful shed in the backyard so we can have all of our stuff organized and space for it- and a place for our stuff for when we leave again next year to sell. When it's done I'll post a picture. It's really close!
Before- Baby's Room After-
My "nesting" obsession (which I guess is common when you're pregnant) is finally subsiding now that things are really coming together in our apartment. I'm still working on curtains for the kitchen, living room and our bedroom and some overall decorating in our bedroom. Let me know if you have any fun ideas for curtains in your home!
